Futuristic Kitchen Island – A Unique Fusion of Corian and Wood

For my Master’s project in Wood Engineering at Transilvania University Brasov, I designed a concept kitchen island that merges futuristic aesthetics with timeless materials. Inspired by renowned designers, this piece features minimal lines and curved shapes, offering a sleek and modern design. The exterior is crafted from Corian, providing a smooth, sophisticated finish, while the interior structure is made from wood, adding warmth and natural contrast. The combination of these materials creates a unique, futuristic design that stands out with its bent forms and beautiful color tones. This kitchen island reimagines contemporary design, pushing the boundaries of form and functionality.
